Immersed in the beautiful landscapes of Gardiner, NY we are so pleased to be hosted by Groundworks, a very special art and movement retreat space situated at the foot of the Shawangunk Ridge, thoughtfully curated by a family of artists and caregivers. Attendees will have time to enjoy quiet moments on the walking trails and meditation walking paths, gazing into the incredible deep nature from a hammock or watching the sunset with fellow students in the gazebos. We’ll care for our bodies in the wood fired sauna or hot tub, take in the stars around the fire pits, and be nourished by home cooked, vegetarian meals, often sourced from the on-site organic garden and free-range chickens.
Our retreat will have a balance of structure and space, focus and openness. Each day will include movement and pranayama practices, with our foundational practice of seated and walking meditation grounding us throughout the day. We will explore teachings together as a community, have time for reflection and creative practices, and deepen our relationships as a sangha. We will also practice silence during morning practice and breakfast, and a daily structure which will give equal opportunity for engaged quiet and communal togetherness. We will also have the opportunity to practice with Scott Norton, who will join us to offer a traditional tea ceremony as an extension of our contemplative explorations.
